The Assembly Palace is a legislative assembly building in Chandigarh, India. It was designed by Le Corbusier. It is part of the Capitol Complex, which includes the Legislative Assembly, the Secretariat and the High Court. The Assembly Palace features a circular assembly chamber, a forum for conversation and transactions and stair-free circulation.
The building was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2016.
The Assembly Palace is an icon of modernist architecture and one of Chandigarh’s most distinctive landmarks. The building was completed in 1961 and continues to be an architectural landmark in the region.
