Tucked away within a dense residential neighborhood in Tokyo, the “spiral” residence by Japanese studio akihisa hirata architecture stands out from its surroundings with a white, neutral exterior. Following a continuous experiential sequence, as some might think of life, the inhabitant’s experience is confused with the city and the house, with a continuous spatial experience revealed when entering the garage. The rooms are integrated into a singular corridor that gradually rises and falls throughout the interior.
