House Minimum

Le Corbusier – Maison “Minimum”, 1926 (Unrealized project)

By “maison minimum” Le Corbusier meant a dwelling created through the adoption of “five points”, that is: pilotis, free plan, free facade, ribbon window and roof terrace. The “maison minimum” was also conceived as a product to be mass-produced and, therefore, standardized. Standardization, Le Corbusier stated, is the means by which industry can make an object its own, produce it at low cost and in series.
