Alvar Aalto and composer Joonas Kokkonen became friends while they were members of the Finnish Academy at the same time. The first drawings for Villa Kokkonen were drawn in a restaurant where Aalto and Kokkonen went to eat after visiting the site. The fan-shaped house is divided into three parts: the bedrooms and kitchen, the dining room and living room, and finally the composer's large study dominates the house.
