New Museum of Contemporary Art

SANAA (Sejima + Nishizawa) – New Museum of Contemporary Art, 235 Bowery New York USA, 2003-2007

The museum consists of four public galleries on the first four floors, which have free and flexible spaces for exhibitions; a "white box" auditorium in the basement, the Education Center on the fifth floor, offices on the sixth, a multipurpose room on the seventh. By moving these large containers all the galleries get natural lighting, combined with artificial. The offices on the upper floors have terraces overlooking the cityscape.
