The Noyes Houses are two historic homes built in New Canaan, Connecticut.
First Noyes house 1948
The first house was accessed at street level on the sleeping level with bedrooms and an entrance hall. The living room, dining room, kitchen and study were located on the lower level, offering privacy from the street, direct access to the courtyard and views of the pond below.
Second Noyes House 1954
Breuer and Eliot Noyes in New Canaan, Connecticut-USA, 1954
Noyes moved his family to New Canaan in the mid-40s. He designed Noyes House II with the intention of expanding his family while expressing his design ideals. With a wing dedicated to bedrooms and rest and a parallel wing designated for gathering, the house is brought together by an open-air courtyard that gracefully unites the two separate functions.
