Casa Malaparte is a private residence located on the island of Capri on a steep, narrow rocky promontory known as Punta Massullo, on the eastern side of the island of Capri.

The villa is an icon of modern architecture designed by Curzio Malaparte as also results from the Public Register of Protected Works at the MIBAC. For a long time the paternity of the project was attributed to Adalberto Libera, always commissioned by the poet and writer Curzio Malaparte.
The villa was built between 1937 and 1942 and is famous for its suggestive position, which offers a breathtaking view of the sea and the surrounding landscapes, its unique architecture and its fascinating history.

The architecture of the villa is characterized by clean and minimalist lines, with a design that harmoniously integrates with the surrounding natural environment. One of the most distinctive features of the villa is the flat roof, which extends like a panoramic terrace and offers an ideal place to admire the surrounding landscape. The terrace is accessed by a staircase that takes up the entire width of the building.

Villa Malaparte also has an interesting history related to its owner, Curzio Malaparte, a controversial Italian writer and journalist. Malaparte was known for his eccentric lifestyle and controversial political positions. During World War II, the villa served as a refuge for Malaparte, who wrote many of his most famous works there.
Today, Villa Malaparte is privately owned and not open to the public, but it has become an icon of modern architecture and a popular destination for tourists visiting Capri. The villa has also appeared in several films, including Jean-Luc Godard's “Contempt,” helping to increase its international fame.
