Winton Guest House

Frank Gehry – Winton Guest House, Wayzata Minnesota, USA, 1983-1987

The house was commissioned to Gehry by the Winton family, serving as a guesthouse for their brick and glass residence, built in 1952 near Lake Minnetonka by another great twentieth-century architect, Philip Johnson.
The house is an architectural collage of six geometric volumes, each with a different shape and housing function.
The house consists of a pyramid-shaped living room in black painted metal, a curved bedroom covered in limestone, a rectangular garage and kitchenette in Finnish plywood and aluminum strips, a rectangular galvanized steel loft and a second bedroom. with a sloping roof, in turn painted in black metal.
