In Praise of Light
“…this is the beauty that one would want for its architecture. A naked, intelligent beauty, ESSENTIAL, capable of capturing the head and the heart. For the head, with the overwhelming logic of reason, with the precision of dimensions, with the efficiency of proportions, with the clarity of scale. With a built idea. For the heart, with the warm feeling of emotion. With the splendor of light. With the serenity of spatial order that gives you control of gravity. And it is this idea, light and gravity are the three main components of that architecture that I call ESSENTIAL. This architecture proclaims the MORE with the LESS. As a reflection on that 'less is more' by Mies van der Rohe. A more that wants to keep man, with the complexity of his culture as the center of the world created as the center of architecture. A less that, especially in minimalism, aims to reach the center of the matter, with 'only the precise number of elements “physically” able to translate these ideas.
IDEA, LIGHT and GRAVITY. Nothing more, nothing less…”
