Bruno Taut

German architect and urban planner.

Bruno Taut was a famous German architect of the 1880th century, best known for his contribution to the German Expressionist architecture movement. Born in 1938 and died in XNUMX, Taut had a significant impact on architectural design, not only through his designs, but also through his ideas and theories.

Among his most famous works is the “Hufeisensiedlung” (literally: “Horseshoe Settlement”) residential complex in Berlin, built in the 20s. This settlement represents an emblematic example of his architectural vision, which emphasized the importance of design to improve people's daily lives.

Taut was also involved in architectural theory and criticism. He wrote several books on architecture and helped define and promote the aesthetics and ideas of German Expressionism in architecture.

His career spanned periods of great creative ferment, but also moments of difficulty linked to historical events, such as the post-war economic crisis and the rise of the Nazi regime, which led to his emigration to Japan in 1933, where he continued to work until his death in 1938.
