Gerrit Thomas Rietveld
Dutch architect (Utrecht, 24 June 1888 – Utrecht, 25 June 1964)
Gerrit Thomas Rietveld (Utrecht, 24 June 1888 – Utrecht, 25 June 1964) was a Dutch architect and craftsman.
He was one of the main exponents of neoplasticism in the field of architecture and design. In 1918, he created the famous 'red-blue chair', composed of red and blue plywood boards with a black and yellow structure, according to a geometric design that represents the three-dimensional equivalent of the works of Piet Mondrian. The Schröder house in Utrecht (1924), among his most important creations, with the asymmetrical arrangement of the horizontal and vertical planes in glass and brickwork, gave substance to Mondrian's idea of a formal research based on simple geometric relationships and chromatic relations between the parts….https://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gerrit_Rietveld
