Australian architect (25 June 1923 – 9 March 2006)

Harry Seidler, AC OBE (25 June 1923 – 9 March 2006) was an Austrian-born Australian architect who is regarded as one of the leading exponents of the methodology of Modernism in Australia and the first architect to fully express the principles of the Bauhaus in Australia.
Seidler designed over 180 buildings and received many accolades for his contribution to Australian architecture. Seidler consistently won architectural awards every decade throughout his nearly 58-year Australian career across a variety of categories: his residential work from 1950, his commercial work from 1964, and his public commissions of the 70s. He was a controversial figure throughout his long career as he regularly criticized planning authorities and the planning system in Sydney.
