The competition is announced by the company of
CONI services (Sport and Health S.p.A.) in collaboration with the
CNAPPC and the Order of Architects of Rome.
OBJECT OF THE COMPETITION
The object of this design competition is the acquisition, after completion of the 2nd grade, of a
project proposal for the architectural-functional redevelopment of the “Centrale del Foro Italico in Rome”.
In line with the general and specific objectives set out in the Design Guidance Document, this Competition constitutes, for the Contracting Authority, a tool to acquire a design proposal for
construction of the roof of the "Centrale del Foro Italico", in order to collect and satisfy various public and private expectations and helping to improve urban quality, employment and opportunities for growth and development both in the context of sporting events and events of different nature.
Therefore, architectural completion of the current stadium, enhancement and redevelopment of the external elevations, create a mobile roofing system capable of making the plant multipurpose and usable indoors and outdoors for different events compared to its current use.
The estimated cost for the construction of the work, including safety charges, is
€ 27,600,000.00 net of VAT.
AWARDS
The competition will end with a merit ranking and with the awarding of the following prizes:
Prize for the 1st classified: € 100,000.00 (including completion of the feasibility project) net of social security charges and VAT;
Prize for the 2nd place: € 25,000.00 net of social security charges and VAT (if due);
Prize for the 3rd place: € 25,000.00 net of social security charges and VAT (if due);
Prize for the 4th place: € 25,000.00 net of social security charges and VAT (if due);
Prize for the 5th place: € 25,000.00 net of social security charges and VAT (if due);;
Prize for the 6th place: € 25,000.00 net of social security charges and VAT (if due);
Prize for the 7th place: € 25,000.00 net of social security charges and VAT (if due);

The aforementioned amounts will be paid within 90 days. starting from the date of enforceability of the administrative provision approving the ranking.
The authors of all deserving proposals (first seven classified), upon successful completion of the verification of the requirements (as better specified in point 5.7 above), will be issued a Certificate of Good Execution of the Service, usable at a curricular level, both in terms of requirements of participation and of technical merit in the context of procedures for the award of architectural and engineering services.

- 01 OCT 2019 - Publication of the competition and opening of the period for requesting 1st degree clarifications
- 01 OCT 2019 - Opening of registrations and simultaneous sending of the documents and administrative documentation for the 1st degree
- 16 OCT 2019 - Inspection (not mandatory) every Wednesday, 10.00 am, from 16 October to 04 December 2019. Those interested in carrying out the inspection must present themselves, at the day and time indicated, at the Central Stadium of the Foro Italico - Driveway entrance Viale dei Gladiatori 00135 - Rome.
- 09 DEC 2019 - Closing of the period for the request for 1st degree clarifications
- 19 DEC 2019 - Publication of requests for clarifications and related replies to 1st degree phase, by 12:00
- 10 JAN 2020 - Closing of registrations and simultaneous sending of the documents and administrative documentation for the 1st degree, by 12:00
