Kandinsky Public Garden
Planimetry at 1:100 scale (meters)
The design scheme of this public garden proposes a composition with a strong graphic character, where the green design becomes almost an artistic as well as functional exercise.
The system is clearly geometric and abstract, built through a sequence of triangles, broken lines and irregular surfaces that fit together, creating a dynamic and unconventional design.
Dimensions: 35 x 42 meters.
Surface area: 1442 m2.
The reference to Wassily Kandinsky It's quite evident: the park seems to translate the principles of abstract art into a landscape, with paths that intersect like vectors, fragmented green spaces, and a strong contrast between solids and voids. There's no classical symmetry, but rather a visual balance achieved through the rhythm of shapes, materials, and colors.
At the centre of the composition there is space for a curved body of water, nestled in a circular paved plaza, which becomes the visual and functional fulcrum of the garden. The main paths branch off from here, guiding visitors through the various green spaces, including trees, seating areas, and rest areas.
The block is particularly suitable for:
- contemporary urban parks
- public spaces with a cultural vocation
- landscape design interventions with a strong formal identity
Overall, it is a DWG that not only represents a garden, but an “artistic” interpretation of public space, where the landscape openly dialogues with abstract art and the idea of movement, typical of Kandinsky's works.
