Sampietrini road section
The drawing shows a section of the road surface formed by porphyry cubes, better known as cobblestones. The cubes are placed on a bedding layer, their laying takes place on a mixture of cement conglomerate. The type of paving formed by the cobblestones is an excellent alternative to more modern types of flooring, it is ideal for historic centers, characterizing them with a traditional sign.
Formation of the bedding layer, made above the substrate where the flooring is laid. For porphyry cubes, the widely used system consists of a dry mix of sand and cement type R 325 (200 kg / m3). Depending on the element used for the flooring and its thickness, an adequate bedding thickness must be provided. The laying of slabs, curbs and boundaries takes place on a mixture of cement conglomerate.
