Un boarding sleeve, also called a telescopic gangway or boarding bridge (sometimes called the English term finger, literally “finger”), is a closed movable connector that connects an airport terminal gate to an aircraft. It allows passengers to get on and off the vehicle more quickly than with stairs.
Depending on the building design, the boarding sleeve can be fixed or mobile: it can move both vertically (rising or lowering) and horizontally (extending or shortening).
