The classic bank defense intervention is the one that uses rocks of considerable size and weight and the greening of the bank with the insertion of willow cuttings between one rock and another. Another type of intervention uses simple or double live palisades or even coverings with willow slats, alder cuttings, tamarisk or other species.
Bank vegetation plays an important role as it reduces the speed of the current, promotes the capture of sediment and consolidates the banks.
