Lo small ladder It is a technique used in naturalistic engineering which combines natural elements (such as wood and vegetation) with technical solutions for the stabilization of slopes and the containment of erosion.
Lo small ladder It is a support structure made with logs or wooden poles driven into the ground and arranged in a grid or steps along a slope. It serves to reduce the speed of surface water flow, contain the soil and encourage the rooting of vegetation.
It is a structure semi-rigid, usually temporary or medium-term, but which can become more stable over time thanks to the root system of the plants that develop.
Uno scalandrino is composed by:
- vertical poles fixed in the ground (usually chestnut or robinia wood, resistant to rot);
- horizontal trunks o crossing, which rest on the poles and create a sort of step or stepped containment;
- earth filling o plant substrate at the top of each step;
- eventual net or geotextile to improve the stability of the soil-vegetation package;
- live vegetation inserted for grassing and consolidation over time.
Lo scalandrino is used mainly in:
- Consolidation of landslide slopes;
- protection of road or railway embankments;
- arrangement of slopes in agricultural or forestry fields;
- renaturalization of degraded environments;
- integration with other naturalistic engineering works, such as palisades or trellises.

The drawing is well layered and optimized for 1:100 scale printing. The .ctb file for print thicknesses is downloadable from here. The thickness setting is standard for all Archweb files. Always check if the ctb is in line with your graphic needs.
All Archweb drawings are of excellent graphic quality, designed by us with care and professionalism, probably the best you can find on the net. We remain at your disposal for any information request.
