Planting of a live fascine on Fascines composed of 5-6 rods of pioneer species (willows or other types) are placed horizontally on the bottom of the excavation, about 30-50 cm deep and buried with the excavated material from the next bank. The distance between successive rows varies from 1,5 to 2 m. The fascines are fixed to the ground with wooden stakes (green or dead) inserted between the branches or placed immediately downstream from them.
