Stabilizing works 05 – Viminate

Scale 1:100

Wickerwork and palisades are generally used in the arrangement and consolidation of slopes in loose materials, affected by superficial landslides and erosion phenomena. It is also successfully applied for the arrangement and consolidation of high artificial slopes (for example road embankments or banks).
The file contains an example of a living wicker plant scheme seen in plan, elevation and section.
Once the surface of the slope to be stabilized has been remodeled, sharp wooden stakes, approximately 100 cm long and with a diameter of
4- 8 cm, for about 2/3 of their length. The distance between the stakes varies between 50- 150 cm, between these are placed at a distance of about 30 cm shorter stakes made of live cuttings. The stakes are woven with enough rods to form a weave of height equal to about 30 cm.
