Erosion – Creasing of living material

Dwg file at 1:100 scale (meters)

The Repellents or brushes have the function of promoting the sedimentation of the material close to the bank and maintaining the current at the center of the section. They are structures transversal to the axis of the watercourse that, adequately embedded in the bank, extend towards the center of the riverbed interfering with the current.

Example of Repellent (or brushes, cordoning) with living material made of wood, tout-venant and bundles. The core of dry material is contained by wooden poles and living bundles. In case of rough solid transport the repellent can be protected by a reef placed at the base.
Depending on the heights to be reached, a single structure can be used or two rows of brushes can be superimposed.
