The Tonda ice cream display case was born from the dream of creating a display case unlike any other, a display case that could give ice cream a magical display, with the same joyful soul of the product it was designed to house and that would bring a fresh breath of innovation to a context that, although technologically in constant evolution, had not offered breakthrough innovations for over sixty years. A display case capable of arousing those emotions that, like ice cream and the childhood universe it represents, make everyone a child, but that at the same time marked a leap forward also from the technological point of view, usability, environmental protection and the health of operators. We are at the beginning of the third millennium. The man who dreams of a magical display case is Gianfranco Tonti ‒ then CEO of Ifi – who consolidates around himself a first-rate technical and scientific team and calls upon an internationally renowned designer to give substance to his desire for his pleasure in experimentation and refined design qualities: Makio Hasuike. The idea around which 24 professionals including engineers, chemists, electricians, prototype makers work intensely, with passion and dedication, shaping the laws of thermodynamics, advanced computer science and applying the knowledge of the deepest Italian culture, comes to fruition with the simple but extremely elegant appearance of a round display case, the first conceptual revolution from the “classic” display cases of the 60s. …….See the full description in the dedicated post in the Design category
