International design competition, open procedure in two stages, for the architectural-functional redevelopment of the sports facility called “Centrale del Foro Italico in Roma”. Design of the roofing system, redevelopment of the facades in compliance with the monumental context, implementation of ATP and WTA standards.

The competition is announced by the company CONI (Sport e Salute SpA) services in collaboration with the CNAPPC and the Order of Architects of Rome.

OBJECT OF THE COMPETITION
The object of this design competition is the acquisition, after the completion of the 2nd level, of a project proposal for the architectural-functional redevelopment of the “Centrale del Foro Italico in Roma”.
In line with the general and specific objectives reported in the Design Guideline Document, this Competition constitutes, for the Contracting Authority, a tool for acquiring a design proposal for the Construction of the roofing of the “Centrale del Foro Italico”, with the aim of gathering and satisfying various public and private expectations and contributing to improving urban quality, employment and opportunities for growth and development both in the context of sporting events and other types of events.
Therefore, architectural completion of the current stadium, enhancement and redevelopment of the external facades, creation of a mobile covering system capable of making the facility multipurpose and usable indoors and outdoors for events different from the current use.

The estimated cost for the construction of the work, including safety costs, is€27.600.000,00 net of VAT

AWARDS
The Competition will conclude with a merit ranking and the awarding of the following prizes:
1st place prize: €100.000,00 (including completion of feasibility project) net of social security charges and VAT;
2st place prize: €25.000,00 net of social security charges and VAT (if applicable);
3st place prize: €25.000,00 net of social security charges and VAT (if applicable);
4st place prize: €25.000,00 net of social security charges and VAT (if applicable);
5st place prize: €25.000,00 net of social security charges and VAT (if applicable);
6st place prize: €25.000,00 net of social security charges and VAT (if applicable);
7st place prize: €25.000,00 net of social security charges and VAT (if applicable).
The final ranking will define the 7 Competitors who will receive the indicated prizes.
The above amounts will be paid within 90 days from the date of enforcement of the administrative provision approving the ranking.
The authors of all deserving proposals (first seven classified), following a positive outcome of the verification of the requirements (as better specified in the previous point 5.7), will be issued a Certificate of Good Execution of the Service, usable at curricular level, both in terms of participation requirements and technical merit in the context of procedures for the awarding of architectural and engineering services. 

Below are the deadlines for participation in the first stage of the competition. Subsequent deadlines will be communicated later.

• 01 OCT 2019 – Publication of the competition and opening of the period for requesting 1st degree clarifications
• 01 OCT 2019 – Opening of registrations and simultaneous sending of the papers and administrative documentation for the 1st degree
• 16 OCT 2019 – On-site inspection (not mandatory) every Wednesday, 10.00 am, from 16 October to 04 December 2019. Those interested in carrying out the inspection must present themselves, on the day and at the time indicated, at the Central Stadium of the Foro Italico – Driveway entrance Viale dei Gladiatori 00135 – Rome.
• 09 DEC 2019 – Closing of the period for requesting 1st degree clarifications
• 19 DEC 2019 – Publication of requests for clarification and related responses for the 1st degree phase, by 12:00
• 10 JAN 2020 – Closing of registrations and simultaneous sending of the papers and administrative documentation for the 1st degree, by 12:00
