Drafting templates or drafting templates are used when standard symbols need to be drawn “by hand” repeatedly. A drafting template is a flat piece of plastic with the standard symbols cut out inside.

The development of architectural models and figures are used as a guide to draw symbols of various types on the project. There are models for different scales of representation.
Drafting templates are also available for a range of floor plans and elevation/prospect systems. There are many symbols that can be represented by a template, furniture, doors, windows, taps, electrical devices, urban planning symbols, etc. etc.

The use was very simple but required a lot of attention, you placed the tip of the rapidograph and followed the outline of the figure to be drawn. You always have to be careful to keep the same inclination of the tip especially at the end of the figure to make the line coincide perfectly.

The use of furniture templates could and perhaps in some cases can significantly speed up the process of creating technical drawings for furniture projects, allowing you to focus on the design and specifications of the project rather than on the detailed drawing of each element.
