The Angola Pavilion at Expo 2015 in Milan was a significant expression of the culture, traditions and development ambitions of this African country.
The theme of the pavilion was "Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life", in line with the general theme of Expo 2015. Angola has declined this theme in a specific path: "The energy of nature". This theme focused on the fundamental role of Angolan women in food production and management of natural resources, highlighting the importance of the balance between sustainable development and environmental protection.
The pavilion was developed on three floors and covered an area of approximately 2.010 square meters. The architectural design of the pavilion combined modern elements with references to Angolan tradition, using local and sustainable materials.
The exhibition was organised into different thematic sections which illustrated:
Culture and Traditions: An overview of Angolan culinary traditions, including methods of growing and preparing food.
Sustainable Development: Projects and initiatives for sustainable agricultural development, with particular attention to the use of natural resources.
The Role of Women: The contribution of women in Angolan society, especially in the agricultural sector, and their influence in promoting sustainable practices.
Innovation and Future: Future prospects for Angola, including technological innovations in agriculture and natural resources management.
