Koraku-en Garden in Okayama

Uno dei tre più belli giardini giapponesi

It is one of the three most illustrious gardens in the whole of Japan. The Koraku-en garden consists of a large green area, blending natural elements and architectural artefacts in a perfect balance.

The park is distributed around a vast body of water in which there are bridges, artificial islands and small waterfalls.

The Koraku-en complex is conceived as a Zen space, where people can meditate and rediscover themselves by spending moments of relaxation inside large pavilions.
Thanks to the use of sustainable construction techniques and large openings, these become a continuum between interior and exterior, blending into the surrounding environment without distorting it.

There are numerous green species of rare beauty and paths created with stones and pebbles, thanks to which it will be possible to walk around the entire garden and enjoy the many views of the surroundings.

In the Koraku-en garden, it is essential to take a break between the tea houses and the ponds on the banks of which you can watch numerous carp swimming.
Splendid during all seasons of the year, in the evening the spectacular lights flood the spaces creating magical plays and contrasts.
The added value is the town's castle, which is well worth a visit.
