Post Office Building on the Aventine

Arch. A. Libera - M. De Renzi (Rome, 1933-34)

The Palazzo delle Poste Roma Ostiense is a postal building in Rome located in Via Marmorata, in the San Saba district.
It hosts the Roma Ostiense post office.
Project by architects Adalberto Libera and Mario De Renzi.

History
The construction of this post office, together with those of Viale Mazzini, Via Taranto and Piazza Bologna, was part of the development plan of the Urbe, which envisaged the decentralization of services in areas outside the historic core of the city. In 1932 the competition for the construction of the work, announced by the Ministry of Communications, was won by the architect Adalberto Libera.
