Reconnection project between the historic center and the port in San Benedetto del Tronto: new urban facilities

The project is located within the urban context of San Benedetto del Tronto and is configured as an urban square on multiple levels. In fact, near the road, some "clods" of land rise, creating artificial dunes that raise the square up through stairs and access ramps. The new configuration of the shipyards constitutes the scenographic backdrop of the new square, which provides the opportunity to house the new urban services underneath, the main one being the theatre. The cultural centre of the area, the theatre complex is made up of a central body and two adjacent volumes: the central element houses the services and the paths, marked by alternating columns. The volumes adjacent to the central volume house the performance halls: the first hall, formally richer, is made up of a series of variously oriented areas, each of which constitutes a sector with a certain number of seats. The strong point of the second hall is the foyer, which houses an exhibition space that reverberates in the space the changing colours of the LED-lit casing.
