Daeyang Gallery and House

Steven Holl Architects - The private gallery and house, Kangbuk, Seoul, Korea, 2008-2012

The Daeyang Gallery and House, designed by Steven Holl Architects, is located in the Kangbuk district of Seoul, South Korea.
The geometry of the roof plane was inspired by a 1967 sketch for a film score by Hungarian composer István Anhalt.
Three pavilions, an entrance, an event space, and a residential space, are separated by a reflecting pool. Below, they are connected by a continuous art gallery space.
