Esso Office Building

L'Esso Office Building at Magliana, designed by the architect Julio Lafuente and the engineer Gaetano Rebecchini in 1977 in Rome, is a significant example of modern Italian architecture. Located along the Rome-Fiumicino highway, the building stands out for its innovative design.

"In the "Esso" building the mechanical conditions of the ground have determined the basis of a formal setting in which Lafuente's inventive dimensions are highlighted. The fan structure, already used in previous works, here acquires the status of a principle generating the form.
The concentration of the supports in the smallest points facilitates the foundation operations, shifting the formal and technical problem to the construction above ground level".
