Il Prati dell'Acqua Acetosa riverside park It is the largest of the five parks created in Rome with the Jubilee funds. Today it represents the largest linear river park in EuropeA green oasis in the heart of the city, overlooking the Tiber, where to walk among gravel paths, poplar and willow groves, panoramic terraces. Furthermore, there are rest areas that invite relaxation. A unique natural habitat, capable of offering moments of tranquility away from traffic. The park is just minutes from the center of Rome.
The area extends for 8,5 hectares between the Rome-Civita Castellana railway bridge and the Tor di Quinto bridgeIt has been the subject of a major intervention environmental remediation and redevelopmentBefore the start of the works in March 2024, the site presented serious critical issues. Thousands of tons of waste were removed and a recovery plan was launched. renaturalizationThis plan includes the planting of approximately 2.000 shrubs and 100 trees, in addition to hydroseeding interventions in the most fragile areas. The park was inaugurated on May 10, 2025.
In addition to its naturalistic vocation, the Prati dell'Acqua Acetosa overlooking park also stands out for its artistic valorizationA mural by the street artist Moby Dick, built on an Acea tower, celebrates the themes of water, biodiversity and environmental protection.
Among the strengths stand out the five large panoramic wooden terraces, from which to admire the river landscape and the biodiversity of the Tiber. The project also includes a bicycle path connected to the adjacent underpass. (Not currently built).
A renovated parking lot makes the park easily accessible on foot and by bicycle. The main entrance is located in Via del Foro Italico, at the height of the Mosque. It can also be reached with the bus line 69 (Foro Italico/Moschea stop).
