Foro Italico Park Overlooking the Tiber
A new urban space between city, river and community
Il Park overlooking the Tiber at the Foro Italico It is one of the most recent steps in the process of redevelopment of Rome's river banks.
The project restored quality to an area historically important to the city. This was achieved through the regeneration of the panoramic terraces, the creation of a linear square designed for public events and the inclusion of new equipped outdoor fitness trails.
Plants, seating, and a renovated lighting system contribute to a safer and more welcoming environment. This space enhances the views of the cityscape and the Tiber. The staircase that provides direct access to the riverbank has also been restored, strengthening the connection between the city and the river.

This new park is part of a broader urban strategy: to return the Tiber to its citizens. The goal is to restore the relationship between Rome and its waterway. A path that looks to the future with the ambition of building a large linear river parkIt will be among the largest and most evocative in Europe. Furthermore, it will combine history, landscape and spaces of contemporary sociality.
The photo gallery on Archweb.com documents this intervention in detail. It highlights not only the landscape transformations, but also the new opportunities for collective enjoyment that the park offers.
This intervention - said the Mayor Roberto Gualtieri - It perfectly represents the direction we're taking: restoring accessible spaces to the city and bringing Rome closer to its river. Here at the Foro Italico, with an investment of €2 million, we've reclaimed 1,6 hectares, redeveloped the terraces, landscaped the central square, and created new spaces for physical activity with new lighting. It's the fifth Jubilee park and a crucial step in the journey we've begun with the €7,3 million investment to restore the Tiber to its residents and move closer to our goal of a large linear river park, one of the most beautiful in Europe..
