Building a swimming pool

Detailed photos of the various construction phases

Building a swimming pool can involve many steps and considerations. Here is a general overview of the swimming pool building process:

Planning - The first step involves designing the pool. You will need to decide on the size, shape, depth, and other details such as desired amenities (e.g., slides, spas, lighting). It may be helpful to work with a landscape architect or a professional who specializes in pool design.

Authorizations and Permissions - Before you begin construction, you will need to obtain the necessary permits and authorizations from your local authorities. Regulations may vary depending on your geographic location, so be sure to follow local guidelines and complete all required procedures.

Excavation - Once the permits are obtained, the ground will need to be excavated to create the space needed for the pool. Make sure that the excavation is done accurately and that the dimensions are appropriate for the project.

Structure and systems - The pool will have a support structure, usually made of reinforced concrete. Drainage systems, water pipes and other necessary systems, such as filtration and heating systems, will also be placed.

Coating - Once the basic structure is completed, the pool will be covered with a waterproofing material, ceramic tiles, resin or other type of coating.

Finishes - After the coating, the final finishing touches will be carried out, which may include laying flooring around the pool, installing safety fencing, lighting and landscaping the surrounding area.

Water filling and treatment - Once the pool is completed, it will be filled with water and any necessary treatments will be performed to keep the water clean and safe to use.

It is important to keep in mind that building a pool can take time and careful planning. It is advisable to consult with a professional pool builder to ensure that all steps are followed correctly and that local safety and regulations are followed.
