Inserting AutoCAD Hatches

I hatch file with the extension “.pat” to be recognized and used by Autocad must be inserted in the “support” folder.

The “support” folder is located in:
documents and settings -> user name -> application data -> Autodesk -> AutoCAD…continue to continue along the path until you find the “Support” folder.

To view all folders and files properly, you need to enable the option to show hidden files and folders (in Windows)

The complete path to locate the support folder exactly can be viewed in AutoCAD under menu > tools > Options > File > “Support File Search Path”  

Once you have located the folder “support” keep the folder open.

Select and copy all the .pat files you want to import into AutoCAD and paste them all into the support folder.
Close all, hatch pattern files have been inserted into autocad.

From now on, when you have to insert a hatch in the "hatch pattern palette" in addition to the ANSI, ISO and other predefined patterns, you will find custom, the list of new hatch patterns we just imported.
Choose the model via the preview on the right and with the ok the hatch pattern is chosen.
