The Waterfall House (Kaufmann House)

Photos

The Waterfall House is the Italian name by which Fallingwater is better known, or Casa Kaufmann from the name of its owner, a villa designed and built on the Bear Run stream near Mill Run in Pennsylvania by the architect Frank Lloyd Wright and considered one of the masterpieces of organic architecture.
This architecture, defined by Wright as “organic architecture” promotes a harmony between mankind and nature, the creation of a new system in balance between the built environment and the natural environment.
