How important are social media for an architect?

The question arises spontaneously: are social networks important for the professional life of an architect? The answer, especially today, is obvious: a good online presence can make the difference. Let's see together which are the main social networks useful for an architect and how to set up your page on these.

Must-have social media
What are the social networks that an architect should have and take care of on a daily basis (when possible, of course)?

LinkedIn
A personal profile on LinkedIn is definitely a must. LinkedIn is the main social network dedicated to the world of work. Taking care of your presence with the constant updating of new experiences, posts dedicated to the latest jobs and important professional moments is the basis of using this tool. The main utility of LinkedIn is in fact to create a network of professionals in your sector of expertise. Broaden your horizons thanks to other colleagues with whom, why not, you could find yourself working. The most important opportunity that LinkedIn offers remains the search for a job. There are thousands of job offers published daily on the social network and the next one could be just the one for you.

Facebook
Virtually half of the world's population has Facebook, but are we sure that it is still useful in 2021? The answer is yes, but only if you already have your own studio or the idea is to create one in a short time. The reason is simple: Facebook can become a showcase of the products you offer to the client. A personal page would have little prominence on this social network, while your company's page could offer important information. Zuckerberg's blue social network gives you the opportunity to update potential clients at any time, from studio hours to links to new works published on your site. Facebook can in fact be an excellent channel for an audience that previously did not know who you were and who, almost magically, finds themselves browsing the pages of the projects on your site.

Instagram
Last but not least, the most popular social network of the moment. Instagram can be a land of conquest for a profession in which the eye is the master. But be careful not to use it only to sell your art. Instagram is based on images and for this reason it should be used: offer the best images of your projects (or others) on your profile and do not try spasmodically to sell your product. In this case, it does not matter if you have a studio or are a freelancer, the social network will be equally useful to you to create a group of followers who, in the future, could become fans of your projects and therefore become your new clients.
