SketchUp 2021, here are some new features

In a time of pandemic that has blocked many realities, the world of software has remained in motion. In fact, the new updated version of SketchUp 2021 has been released.

SketchUp 2021's updated features come courtesy of user feedback, a sign of how much the company cares about its customers' opinions.

Graphically, the first two new features are the logo and the new interface when starting a new drawing. 
The software itself announces the change of direction with these words: “After eight years of growth and evolution, we have given a lot of thought to this new brand […]” and “[…] we wanted something simple, yet advanced that would represent the foundation of our new brand”.

SketchUp and the environment
One of the characteristics of current architecture is the relationship with the theme of eco-sustainable development and the design of low-emission buildings. The environment and its respect are the reasons behind the new PreDesign function.
By using PreDesign, in fact, users can make their model compliant with current environmental needs and regulations.
PreDesign provides users with all the weather and atmospheric data in a specific area. This data is really very useful for all professionals who will make eco-friendly models. 
Additionally, the software’s hourly local sun path diagrams show users exactly where to provide shade and where to place any solar panels or sunscreens.

The new way to manage tags
One of the major updated features is the new tag management function. 
The new management system includes the ability to use folders, so users can organize their files in a more convenient way.
The functionality is very similar to layers, with the ability to group or toggle the entire folder to hide/show things in the model.

Live Components
Another new feature is the live components, available in the 3D Image Gallery for all users and designed and programmed with the logic of allowing a changeable modeling through the intervention on the data that characterize them in real time. In fact, these are configurable objects that automatically redesign themselves in real time. 
The management of these elements, which also reveal potential if used correctly, will therefore be entrusted to more expert users.
