Victor Bourgeois (Charleroi, 29 August 1897 – Brussels, 24 July 1962) was a Belgian architect and urban planner, considered the greatest exponent of the “Modern Movement” in his country.
Victor Bourgeois was a famous 20th-century Belgian architect. He is best known for his work in the field of modernist and functionalist architecture. Bourgeois was a pioneer in his approach to architecture, seeking to combine innovative forms with practical functionality.
He worked on a variety of projects, including residential, commercial and public buildings. Among his most famous works is the Maison du Peuple in Brussels, a building that reflected his vision of a social and democratic architecture. Bourgeois has left a significant imprint on the Belgian and international architectural scene.
