The Electa Book Pavilion

James Stirling in the gardens of the Venice Biennale

The Electa book pavilion of the Venice Biennale designed by James Stirling and Michael Wilford with Thomas Muirhead, inaugurated in 1991, on the occasion of the Fifth International Architecture Exhibition.
The pavilion is located among the trees of the garden in front of the entrance to the Biennale.
The pavilion is made with a steel supporting structure that saw the participation of Permasteelisa for the coordination of design and structures. The outer shell has a long ribbon window below and above the copper-clad roof. The interiors and furnishings are made of wood.
The director of the Architecture Sector of the Biennale in 1991 is Francesco Dal Co.
