Akihisa Hirata – IENOIE (house of house) Yokohama Triennial, Japan 2008

IENOIE (house of house), Akihisa Hirata - Yokohama Triennial, Japan 2008

At the 2008 Yokohama Triennial in Japan, several contemporary architects joined the various exhibiting artists of their works. Akihisa Hirata, Ryue Nishizawa (sanaa), and other emerging architects exhibited the projects in what is the largest international art exhibition in Japan.
Architect Hirata, one of the most promising young architects in Japan, exhibits the "house of houses" by developing his 2007 concept "house t". This experimental building housed the triennial information center and an exhibition of housing proposals by several other architects. Since his previous work "house s" (2006), Hirata has explored the untapped potential of the house and its pitched roof.
