Lovell Health house

Richard Neutra – Los Angeles USA, 1927-1929

The Lovell House or Lovell Health House is an international-style residence designed and built by Richard Neutra between 1927 and 1929. The house, located at 4616 Dundee Drive in Los Angeles, California, was built for the doctor and naturopath Philip Lovell .
It is considered a great monument in the history of architecture and was a turning point in Neutra's career.
It is often described as the first steel-frame house in the United States and also a prime example of the use of gunite (sprayed concrete). Neutra was familiar with steel construction because of his previous work with the Chicago company Holabird & Roche. Neutra was the project contractor.
