Oser House

Louis Kahn – Oser House, Pennsylvania, United States, 1939-1943

Commissioned in 1939 by Jesse and Ruth Oser, Esther, the house was built in a hilly forest in Montgomery County, while it was originally designed for another place.
This picture is one of Kahn's first lodgings, it illustrates well the characteristics that were later developed and would be the most indicative of its aesthetics.

Formally, the Oser is rectangular and massive, it is covered in stone and every addition or subtraction to the basic volume is characterized by a wooden covering. You are visually associated with different materials.
Location: pennsylvania, united states, 1939-1943
