Expo 2015, officially known as Universal Exhibition Milan 2015, was held in Milan, Italy, from May 1 to October 31, 2015. Expo 2015 was a major world exposition that had as its main theme “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life”. The event attracted the attention of millions of visitors from all over the world.

The objective of Expo 2015 was to promote awareness on the topic of nutrition and highlight the importance of sustainable solutions to guarantee sufficient, quality food for the world’s population. The exposition featured national pavilions from over 140 countries, each showcasing their own innovations, culinary traditions and projects related to agriculture and food security.

The main exhibition area of Expo 2015 was located on the Rho-Pero site, in the immediate vicinity of Milan. The site spanned an area of more than one million square meters and included national pavilions, themed areas, cultural event spaces and a wide variety of restaurants and food outlets.

During Expo 2015 numerous conferences, debates and cultural events were organised, as well as shows and performances involving artists from all over the world. The aim was to promote the sharing of knowledge, ideas and solutions to address global food-related challenges.

Expo 2015 was an event of great importance for the city of Milan, which saw a notable influx of tourists and visitors during the exhibition period.
