The thesis work had, as its objective, the requalification, the increase, the energy and environmental performance quality of the Institute of Orthopedic and Traumatology Clinic located inside the University City in Rome, a building built in 1935 on an architectural project by Arnaldo Foschini.
After a careful archival and bibliographical study, the following intervention hypotheses were formulated:

- on the entire building envelope (in particular on the vertical perimeter walls, with thermographic study - external windows - ground floor slab - roof slab, in full compliance with the DM 26 June 2015 - Thermal transmittance values and the Quality Charter of the Rome PRG in force since 2008);

- on heating/cooling systems, aimed at improving their performance and energy class as well as reducing costs (identification of machines, with their placement - functional system diagram of the current state - new system proposal - new interventions on the existing system - proposal for photovoltaic technology);

- in addition to an architectural redevelopment intervention.

The latter includes the construction of temporary accommodation and residences for Sapienza students/staff and occasional guests of the Policlinico in accordance with current legislation (Law 14 November 2000 n.338 from the website of the Ministry of Education, University and Research).
The result was the transition from an energy class G to a class C.
