The classic spondale defense intervention is that which uses boulders of considerable size and weight and the greening of the bank with the insertion of willow cuttings between one boulder and another. Another type of intervention uses the simple simple or double piles or even the coverings with willow stems, alder cuttings, tamarisk or other species.
The bank vegetation plays an important role as it reduces the speed of the current, favors the capture of sediments and consolidates the banks.
