One of the most anticipated events of Marmomac – the international exhibition of marble and natural stone than this year will be held in Verona from 25 to 28 September 2019 – is the visit of The Italian Stone Theatre, the pavilion dedicated to culture, design and research, where companies in the sector and designers are the protagonists of exhibitions and dedicated areas.
The theme that will be explored this year is Naturality, that is the naturalness of stone and its uniqueness and for this reason the exhibits will be immersed in a green setting, alluding to the link between the plant and mineral world.

Lithic Garden: curated by Vincenzo Pavan, the exhibition is inspired by the hortus conclusus – a small microcosm that in the Middle Ages tried to relate the natural and supernatural world – and represents a place where geo and bio materials suggest new habitat ideas for man, in a relationship of sustainability, balance and harmony with nature.

The exhibition Natural Things, curated by Raffaello Galiotto, it aims to rediscover the relationship between man and nature through stone, as the natural material par excellence. Today, many everyday products are made with different materials that often mimic natural ones, making it increasingly difficult to recognize authenticity. Eight installations, each inserted within a cylindrical space, will constitute an archipelago of islands in which the visitor can freely access.

Brand & Stone 2.0, the exhibition curated by Giorgio Canale based on a concept by Danilo Di Michele, sees the collaboration between marble companies and major international design brands. The exhibition aims to bring designers and companies closer to the use of natural stone in the production of objects and accessories, indoor and outdoor, to be included in their collections.

Paths of Art, the exhibition curated by Raffaello Galiotto and now in its second edition, aims to investigate the theme of the use of machines in the artistic processing of stone. Five international artists, who have been experimenting with numerical technologies for stone processing for some time, will create five works on the theme of natural stone in collaboration with leading Italian companies in the production of machinery, software and tools.

The "Nature Works" Author's Restaurant – edited by ADI Delegation of Veneto and Trentino Alto Adige – will be a place of welcome, conviviality and relaxation. The theme explores the aspects of rock in nature, interpreting it to give shape to the objects that furnish the space. To pamper guests, excellent food paired with a careful selection of wines in collaboration with Tommasi Wine.

The new Wine Bar “ Natural Beam” was created by Giorgio Canale and will interpret the general theme of the pavilion, naturalness, transporting visitors to an oasis of peace and tranquility.

The general layout is curated by Raffaello Galiotto and Vincenzo Pavan with the collaboration of AIAPP, the Italian Association of Landscape Architecture.

NATURALITY: UNIQUENESS AND GEO-DIVERSITY OF STONE

Enhance the uniqueness and geodiversity of stone: this is the common thread of the initiatives that will be presented at The Italian Stone Theater – the Marmomac pavilion dedicated to Italian stone excellence – where the theme of the 2019 edition will be Naturality, that is the naturalness of stone, understood in its most pure.

The natural element therefore returns again this year, after the success of the 2018 edition where the main theme was the combination of water and stone. The 54th edition of Marmomac, the international exhibition of marble and natural stone on stage in Verona from 25 to 28 September 2019, will focus on the material essence of stone, that is, on the belonging of this material to the biosphere as a fundamental element of nature, through which man has given shape to his habitat.

The different mineralogical composition and the complexity of the genetic transformation processes have produced an infinite variety of lithotypes, scattered throughout the Earth. Witnesses of change and evolution over time, they have always exerted a great fascination with their intrinsic and reassuring promise of eternity.

The inimitable physical, mechanical and aesthetic diversity it is the greatest wealth of these materials that for millennia man has shaped according to his ingenuity with surprising results. The infinite creative opportunities offered by stone to model places, buildings and furnishing objects are proposed again today enhanced, thanks to the availability of new processing technologies and the visions of architects, designers and artists. Today, more than ever, it is necessary to rediscover the ancient affinity with matter, strengthening the alliance of man with nature, stemming the practice of waste and giving life to a new environmental culture.

The exhibitions will be set up on these topics, as always carried out in collaboration with Italian stone, machinery and technology companies, in dialogue with architects, designers and non-sector brands, which will be immersed in a green scenario, alluding to the link between the vegetable and mineral world. They will complete the scenario on Author's Restaurant, the now inevitable gourmet appointment during the days of the event, the Wine Bar and the Forum Space.
